The G4 quad can be handheld for operations out in the field, mounted in a fixed position (pointed towards a desired station) or mounted on a rotating mast. Our U-bolt mount can accommodate a variety of supports from 1″-2″ in diameter.
As a directional antenna, it may be desirable to rotate the antenna.
This can be accomplished by hand (physically turning your mast) or by using a light duty rotator.
While we typically recommend high-quality equipment (such as the Yaesu G-450), a suitable and more budget-minded solution might be a TV antenna rotator, as shown below.
